European Qualification selections – 10 October 2015

singleball-green-bgrnd-150x150OK – we’ve been quiet for a while but have now launched our new website and strategic betting service. We’re going to “kick off” with selections in today’s European qualifiers.

In group B there are a couple of interesting matches. With Belgium away to Andorra today and Wales hosting the same opponents in their final group match they effectively each have three points in the bag and are the automatic qualifiers from this group. That leaves Israel and Bosnia-Herzegovina to battle it out for the playoff place.

Israel have a tough final match away to Belgium and it is essential that they take the three points from their home match against Cyprus today. Cyprus will not exactly roll over, but at 8/15 or thereabouts Israel are good value.

Bosnia have a tough home match, entertaining Wales, but with the virtually certain three points from their final

match on Tuesday the latter could be excused for taking their eye off the ball in this one. Bosnia’s final match is away to Cyprus and they’ll be expecting a result there, so three points today too would, if Israel falter against Belgium on Tuesday, see them into the playoffs – but the three points are essential. The even money on offer is too good to turn down.

Group A is 2010-10-10-soccertrappy, to say the least. With Iceland and the Czech Republic through, Turkey and Holland are left to fight out the playoff spot. Turkey appear to be in the driving seat with two points advantage but they have a tough fixture today, away to the Czech Republic. Their hosts may not be over concerned by the outcome but we think they’ll be too strong. That said, we’re side stepping this one. With Turkey also having a tough final qualifier, when they host group leaders, Iceland, on Tuesday, The Netherlands could make it to the playoffs with a single win from their remaining matches. Odds of 1/4 seem skinny for them to get the better of Kazakhstan, but they really should cruise through this one.

That leaves group H.

Italy are not yet through but really should be there after their visit to Azerbaijan today. Odds of 1/3 appear to be slightly on the generous side. Norway should cruise past Malta but have a tough final match away to Italy. Croatia are more or less guaranteed the playoff spot with their final fixture on Tuesday away to Malta, but they could just scrape into automatic qualification if Norway slip up against Italy on Tuesday, which in all honesty, depends more upon the attitude of the Italians (if they’ve already qualified) than it does the Norwegians. So two wins could see Croatia into the automatic qualification spot and at 1/3 we take them to beat Bulgaria today.

So, as you can see – our tenner will return £68.10 – odds of 5.81/1, which can’t be bad for four that are all but certainties and one that really does have the incentive to win against opponents who may not be treating the match too seriously.

We placed our bet on the Betfair Sportsbook.

So – good luck…
