Best Bet Soccer Champions League Bet – 15 September 2009

bbslogo2cm

We’ve come up with a Best Bet Soccer midweek trixie this week for the first round of Champions League matches — Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal.

We placed our bet with Boyle Sports where a £25 trixie (£100 total stake) produces potential returns of £261.94 for a £161.94 for profit is all results go all way.

We believe this to be absolutely top-class value for these first-round matches. Manchester United should have absolutely no problem overcoming Besiktas, Bayern Munich have hit a high note and should dispatch Maccabi Haifa without any problem and Arsenal should totally outclasse Standard Liege tomorrow evening.

Fingers crossed and a hopeful of all the luck that’s going.

To Hedge Or Not To Hedge?

bbslogo2cmThe question often arises, should we hedge our bet or should we let things run their normal course? The answer? It depends!

Even more complicated, should we hedge the first or second bet in a series of three or should we only hedge on the last if the first two selections have won? Again the answer, it depends!

Is there a mathematical formula we can use to determine when we should and should not hedge? Probably not!

What is the purpose of hedging our bets?

First we are seeking to protect our stake should our original bet be unsuccessful. We’ll have a bet on an alternative outcome for the event — or possibly both alternative outcomes in a win, lose and draw situation — to produce a return to cover our total stakes on our original bet and the hedge bets.

Secondly we may wish to generate a profit from our hedge bet so that if our original bet is unsuccessful we still end up in front.

However, it is important to remember that our hedge bet stakes will reduce the profits from our original bet if it is ultimately successful. We therefore need to consider the amount of our stakes quite carefully.

When to hedge remains the question.

Without getting technical, the time to hedge is when we can arrive at a position where, following the hedge bet(s) we will not mind what the outcome of the event is and the bet(s) will detract only marginally from the profit on our original bet should it be successful. Unfortunately these circumstances arise most often when we will not wish to hedge. For instance, if our bet is for team A to win and we are considering hedging against the draw or team B winning the best value available on the draw and team B winning will be when team A is winning! The bigger the margin by which team A is winning the better will be the odds for the other outcomes! In the circumstances where team A is winning we may not wish to hedge at all. Where team A is losing or the match is being drawn, as time progresses the odds for the alternative results will reduce or lenghten, depending upon how things stand at the time. The problem is that by the time we decide we should hedge the odds available for the bet we wish to make may have become prohibitively short.

Whether we hedge or not may also depend upon the outcome of other matches in the series. For instance, if we are on the third match of our trixie, the previous two selections having already won producing us a return of say £70 against our £100 total stakes, we may not consider it worthwhile hedging the third match where we stand to lose only £30. However, if we are comparing this with possible winnings of say £250 if the third match goes our way we may be quite prepared to eat into this profit to some extent to guarantee a winning outcome — including a profit on our hedge bet or bets.

We don’t normally hedge on the first two matches in our trixie series. We have, on occasion, hedged on the third match. If we hedge on the early matches we feel that all we are doing is increasing the amount of stakes we have to cover on the last match if the hedge bet “goes wrong” and our original bet is successful on the first two legs.

The principle we use, therefore, it is to let matters run their course and take what the results produce for the first two matches in the three match trixie series. When we get to the third match we may hedge at least to cover our stake and possibly with a view to producing a profit on the hedge bet. We would normally hedge “in play” as we can assess the position as the match progresses. It is also often possible to obtain much better odds during the course of the match depending on how things are panning out rather than placing our hedge bet before the kick-off.

As we mentioned previously, we do not consider the decision to hedge to be a hugely scientific one. It is a question of when we get into the third match if the odds are such that we can generate a level of profit no matter what the outcome, without unduly eating into the profit should our original bet should be successful, we will do so. In deciding whether to hedge we will, of course, take account of the way the match stands at time rather than blindly going ahead with our hedge bet or bets simply because the odds are right. Quite often the odds are in our favour as far as our potential hedge bets are concerned because the state of play is such that our original bet has a high probability of winning. We therefore generally wait until fairly well into the match before we hedge and then only if the odds on offer are suitable.

We have deliberately avoided giving numerical examples in this post as they can be quite misleading. However, it is often possible to obtain high-value odds for the alternative results, particularly when the original selection is winning. For instance, if our selection is winning 1 — 0 with 10 minutes to go and the draw odds are 13 — 2 with the odds for the other team winning at 20 — 1 we may well risk, say, £20 on the draw and £10 on the other team winning to give us an overall profit whatever the outcome. Certainly in the circumstance where we are winning 1 — 0 with 10 minutes to go there is a high likelihood that we would hedge against a draw.

We hope you have found this post of some help considering whether you should hedge your bets. We will generally e-mail our subscribers as we make hedge bets if you follow us on Twitter whenever possible we will “tweet” our hedge bets as we make them.

Wishing you good luck with your betting and in all you do.

Best Bet Soccer Results – 12 and 13 September 2009

bbslogo2cm

Well, we’ve been very much on tenterhooks over the weekend. Bayern Munich got us off to a brilliant start and fully justified our confidence in them. West Brom then followed up with the expected win over Plymouth. We had to wait until today for Rennes to beat St Etienne for a return of £342.61 for our £100 stake on our £25 trixie.

Unfortunately our second trixie for the weekend was not so successful. Middlesbrough did well, beating Ipswich, although this is the type of match that is a “must win” for them if they are to win the league, as we expect. However, we were very surprised that Charlton did not manage to beat Southampton and even more so when AC Milan produced only a draw against Livorno. With only one winner there was no return on our second bet.

All in all its was a successful weekend with a return of £342.61 on our winning bet giving net profit of £142.61 after deducting the £100 stake on or losing bet.

There is a possibility of a midweek bet so don’t forget to return to our blog to find out.

Wishing you all the luck in the world.

Best Bet Soccer Selections – 12 and 13 September 2009

bbslogo2cm

A very good morning to you on this Saturday, 12 September.

In a post yesterday we set out the reasons why we are avoiding the English Premier league this week. We therefore look lower further afield for our selections. In fact we come up with two separate trixie bets for this weekend.

For our first bet we look at Germany, the English second tier (The Championship) the top French league.

In Germany we are sticking with Bayern Munich. Although they got off to a bad start losing against what could be described as technically poorer opposition, in their last league fixture they overwhelmed Wolfsburg. Although Borussia Dortmund should provide a stern test and the Bayern Munich manager has been somewhat disparaging about their chances in the press this week, if they are anywhere near showing their true form that should win this.

Next selection is in the English Championship where West Bromwich take on Plymouth. West Brom are performing reasonably well which is much more than can be said to Plymouth who have managed only two points from their five matches so far. It seems to us that they, Plymouth, are heading for the drop and we have no hesitation in including West Brom in our bet this week.

The final selection for our first trixie is in France where Rennes are at home to St Etienne. Rennes have shown good form, particularly when they drew at home to Marseille. Conversely, St Etienne have looked shaky against comparatively poorer opposition. Normally we would look for a higher placed team than Rennes but in these early season matches we are happy to go more with the winning potential than statistical criteria.

So there you have it. For our first trixie this week we go for Bayern Munich, West Brom and Rennes.

We placed our bet with Stan James for a potential return of £342.61 for our £25 trixie (potential profit of £240.61) is significantly better than we are able to identify with other online bookmakers.

We have a second trixie bet this week. Again we have a selection from the English championship, our second selection is from the English League One and final pick is from Italy.

In the English championship we go for Middlesbrough who are at home to Ipswich. In our view Ipswich is a very poor side. They could surprise us by improving their performance but Middlesbrough really have a Premiership side pedigree and we cannot see them having difficulty coping with anything Ipswich can produce.

For our second selection we go into is the English League One where Charlton take on Southampton. Charlton are flying high having won all six of their matches this season. Conversely,  Southampton have managed only four draws to take four points off their -10 point starting penalty. Charlton should crush Southampton this afternoon.

Our final selection is in Italy where Milan are way too Livorno. It is very early days in the Italian league, only two matches having been played. However, Milan should be far too strong for Livorno who we perceive to be potential relegation material.

We’ve placed a bet with William Hill. The potential return from our £25 trixie is £349.32 (potential profit £249.32). The odds available from Corals  just shade those at William Hill but we find the Corals site extremely slow and it is all but impossible to change or add a debit or credit card. We therefore went for William Hill due to the ease of using their site.

William Hill - click here So, with two trixies running this week we really do need fortune to shine on us. Here’s hoping!

Best Bet Soccer English Premier League Preview — 12th and 13 September 2009

bbslogo2cm

Occasionally we may provide a preview to the whole of the fixtures in a league, especially where we may not be making any of our selections from that league for the weekend in question.

The English Premier League is extremely difficult to predict this week and we have made a brief match by match analysis. We believe you will see from this how difficult this league is this week.

Birmingham versus Aston Villa
Birmingham have made a reasonable start to their Premier League life, particularly at home where they have won one and drawn one of their two fixtures. Aston Villa began the season looking dispirited and highly likely to be relegated. They seemed to pick themselves up against Liverpool a couple of weeks ago and showed what they are made of. We really would not like to predict how this match will turn out.

Blackburn versus Wolves
Again a very difficult match to predict. Blackburn are struggling towards the foot of the table having earned only one point from their three matches so far. However, Wolves form is nothing to write home about. With Blackburn having home advantage we feel that they should shade it but do not consider them to be a betting opportunity.

Fulham versus Everton
It ‘s our view that Fulham should do quite well this season although they have not made the start we had anticipated. This makes them somewhat doubtful, even given home advantage, against Everton, who are themselves somewhat shaky this season so far, and again we do not view this match as a betting opportunity.

Liverpool versus Burnley
We’d be astounded if Liverpool do anything but beat Burnley soundly. However, at odds of 1/5 we really cannot include them in our bet this week and also pass this one over.

Manchester City versus Arsenal
Without a doubt this is one of the matches of the day. Both teams have made an excellent start to the season. Mark Hughes has been taunting Arsenal to some extent indicating that they may not be “tough enough” to cope with a long, hard season doing well in various cup competitions as well as the league. However, this could be the sternest test Manchester City have encountered this season it would be no surprise to us if Arsenal managed to come away with a draw or even all three points! Is too close for us to include any outcome in our bet.

Portsmouth versus Bolton
Portsmouth are bottom of the table and Bolton only one place above them. Neither side have a point and Bolton are higher only on goal difference. This could be Portsmouth’s big chance to get some points on the board but we really do not consider them to be reliable enough to risk money on them.

Stoke versus Chelsea
This could be the one and only betting opportunity in the league. Chelsea are flying high having not dropped a point, scored 10 goals and only conceded 2. However, Stoke have conceded none at home and although they have not scored prolifically could well keep Chelsea at bay. For that reason we cannot include Chelsea in our trixie this week, particularly at odds of 2/5.

Sunderland versus Hull
Hull may well produce a shock against Sunderland. It was our first inclination to include Sunderland in our bet this week. With six points from four games and looking to be playing well as a team, when they are playing teams outside the top six of the league we would generally go with them. However, after taking early batterings, Hull seem to be getting their act together and it would not surprise us if they were able to take home a point is not actually beat Sunderland. Yes, all the pointers are a Sunderland win but again we will not be risking our money on them.

Tottenham versus Manchester United
This must be the match of the day. Tottenham have made a fantastic start to the season winning all four of their games. Manchester United are only three points behind them, having won three out of four. We believe Manchester United to be lacking in a couple of areas this season. With Spurs firing on all four cylinders we really cannot bet against them although it’s quite possible that Manchester United are able to spoil their 100% record and take at least a point from this match. It’s too close to call and therefore we have to leave them out.

Wigan versus West Ham
Wigan are short odds for relegation and have only three points from one away win out of therr four fixtures so far. However, West Ham have not exactly cover themselves with glory although they have earned four points out of six away from home so far. We cannot rely upon West Ham to take three points off Wigan and therefore must leave out this one.

The English Premiership matches are very evenly balanced this week and for that reason we will be looking elsewhere for our selections.

For weekly soccer selections delivered to your inbox see our website, Best Bet Soccer.

World Cup Qualification Best Bet Soccer Selections

Click here for Best Bet SoccerOur selections are from the European World Cup qualifying groups this week.

Our first pick is France at home to Romania. This is a must win match for France if they are to gain automatic qualification. On their home turf they should be far too good for Romania and we have no hesitation putting them in our bet this week.

Italy too really must beat Georgia if they are not to lose top spot in their group. With a potentially tricky home match against Bulgaria coming up on Wednesday and then travelling to Ireland on 10 October (before their final match at home to Cyprus) a win here would virtually guarantee them a play off place at the very least and they are our second selection.

Finally, Republic of Ireland are away to Cyprus. The latter’s only win in the group was at home to Georgia and we just don’t see them putting up much opposition to ROI who would just about be assured of a playoff place by winning.

So, there it is: Italy, ROI and France. We’ve placed our £25 trixie (£100 total stake) with Blue Square for a potential return of £285.43 (profit £185.43).

Wishing you all good luck.

Multiple Bet Soccer Selection (2) For Weekend

bbslogo2cm

This weekend we have a very rare second bet — another Trixie.

We are highly confident that our first bet will return around 85% of our stake for one winning double when Rangers beat Hearts. We’ve reviewed the Sunday/Monday fixtures and come up with a second trixie for this round of matches.

We continue to rely upon Rangers and include them in our second bet. We also include Bordeaux later today and Liverpool on Monday evening.

There are several bookmakers offering odds that would produce similar returns. We’ve placed our bet with William Hill where the £25 trixie produces a potential return of £253 for a potential profit of £153.

Best Bet Soccer Selections For 22 And 23 August 2009

bbslogo2cm

This week for trixie we’ve made three selections that we believe to be outstanding value.

Selection 1

Our first selection is in the Bundesliga where we go for Bayern Munich away to Mainz, kick off at 2.30 p.m. (all times UK times) today, Saturday. This Bayern are to be anywhere near a challenging to the top of the league this year is the type of fixture they have to win. We have a strong view that Shalke will take all the beating to the league title but consider that Bayern should give them a run for their money. At the league odds on offer (generally available at 4/9) will be consider them to be excellent value for this one.

Selection 2

Our next selection is in the French league where Lyon travel to Auxerre, kick off at 6.00 p.m. today. Following several seasons as the undisputed champions Lyon did not do quite as well last season. If they have any aspirations of challenging at the top of the league this year they have to win matters like this convincingly.

Selection 3

Our final selection is in Scotland where Rangers play away to Hearts tomorrow, kick off 12.4 5 p.m. We believe that Celtic are the outstanding side in the Scottish Premier league this year but Rangers, as always, should be there challenging them for the title. Hearts really are not in the same class as the two likely principals in the race for the title. Rangers should overcome them with ease.

We identified Stan James as the online bookmaker offering overall best odds. For our £25 trixie (total staked £100) potential return is £358.86 a potential profit of £258.86. You can review the prices available in our odds comparison chart on our website.

Here’s to the results going our way!

Best bet soccer results — weekend of 15 and 16 August 2009

bbslogo2cm

What a good start to a trixie this weekend with Celtic somewhat overwhelming Aberdeen.

When Schalke more or less cruised home against Bochum we were feeling confident.

Marseille scored in the 10th minute and we were feeling even more confident. However, as the game went on and after 80 minutes they remained only one nil up became a little concerned so decided to hedge against the draw to cover or stake. We had £15 against the draw and £5 against Lille winning. At the prices we obtained we almost hoped that the Lille would spring a real surprise in the last few minutes!

Marseille hung on for the win so our trixie this week returns £298.50 for a £198.50 profit. A good start to the European season and now in gear for the season and looking forward to consistent and regular profits!

Best Bet Soccer Selections — 15 and 16 August 2009

bbslogo2cm

Hooray! The European soccer season is getting into gear.

We’ve passed over the first round of matches in the UK  Premiership this week. Both Manchester United and Chelsea are extremely short priced. If Manchester City are to mount a serious challenge to the ”big four” they really need to get off to a winning start away to Blackburn. However, we don’t trust them to do that. As far as we can see there is nothing to choose in many of the other matches between win, lose or draw!

We’ve also passed over Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. We’ve made our selections from the Scottish Premier, the Bundesliga and from France.

Selection one

Our first selection is Celtic (Saturday, 15 August, 12.45 p.m. kick off — all times UK times) in the Scottish Premier League where they are away to Aberdeen. Rangers and Celtic were so far clear of the rest last year we cannot see them dropping points in this first league fixture of the season. Although Aberdeen finished last season in fourth place in the league they were not in the same class as the top two. They may do well against the remaining sides in the Scottish Premier League but we cannot see them standing up to Celtic today.

Selection two

The second selection is Schalke (Sunday, 16 August, 4.30 p.m. kick-off) in the Bundesliga where they are at home to Bochum. Schalke did well in European competition last year. Although they finished only mid-table we anticipate that they are in line for a generally good 2009/10 season. They got off to a good start last week winning 2-1 away to Nuremberg. At home this week to Bochum, who struggled to survive relegation last season, should produce a maximum six points out of six start to the season for them.

Selection three

For our third selection we go to France. It’s Marseille (Sunday, 16 August, 8.OO p.m. kick-off) that is our pick this week. They are at home to Lille who finished in fifth place last season but were left well behind by Bordeaux and Marseille, who finished in in the first and second place respectively. We anticipate Marseille, who easily overcame Grenoble last week, will have no difficulty in despatching Lille, particularly with home advantage.

We’ve reviewed the bookmakers odds available and the best we’ve come up with are those from William Hill where our £25 trixie (total stake £100) produces a potential return of £298.48 for a potential £198.48 profit — odds of very nearly 2/1.

William Hill - click here

For a change we’ve also made a few horseracing selections this week. With Godolphin and Frankie Dettori going so well at present (five winners yesterday) we anticipate them having three winners at Newbury this afternoon. We’ve placed a £25 win trixie on Love And Devotion (9/4) in the 1.30, Kite Wood (5/4) in the 2.35 and Evasive (6/4) in the 3.10. Our £100 stake gives a potential total return of £983.59 for £883.59 profit. We’ve placed our bet with Bet 365.

Weekend Best Bet Soccer Selections For 8 and 9 August 2009

For Best Bet Soccer click here!We were almost counting our money last week when Flamengo absolutely astounded us by only managing to draw. They were our banker!

We’re delighted the European season is firing up with a full fixture list in France and Germany.

Our selections this week are quite short prices which is, of course, a reflection of their chances so we have very high hopes indeed.

Selection 1

Our first selection is in the Italian Super Cup (1.00 p.m. UK time on Saturday) where we believe the value bet of the weekend is Inter Milan to beat Lazio. Remember that most bookmakers will settle on the 90 minute result which is what is included in our trixie.

Selection 2

We move to Germany at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday for our next selection where Werder Bremen are at home to Eintracht Frankfurt and we really cannot see them losing.

Selection 3

Our final selection is in France where last season’s league winners Bordeaux take on promoted Lens at 8.00 p.m. on Sunday. Lens really are dropped in at the deep end here and we anticipate that they may be totally overwhelmed by Bordeaux.

The best odds we are able to find are with Bet 365 and Boyle Sports are offering 8/11, 2/5 and 1/2 for our selections 1, 2 and 3 respectively which produces a potential return of £268.41 (profit £168.41) for our £25 trixie.

Weekend Best Bet Soccer Selecetions – 31 July 2009

bbslogo2cmThe week seems to have flown past.

After the odd midweek results we really must get back into winning ways with our weekend selections. We’ve one each from Norway, The US Major League and Brazil. We were tempted to include three Brazilian games but most of all had difficulty discarding the Seattle Sounders in the US Major League who appear to be excellent value at 13/8 playing away at San Jose Earthquakes. If you fancy a win single on them at this price the kick off is at 8.00 p.m. (all times are UK time) on Sunday, 2 August.

On to our trixie.

Selection 1

Norway Tippeligaen, Saturday 1 August, 3.00 p.m: Molde (2nd in league, last 5 with most recent first DWWWW) at home to Start Kristiansand (4th, DWDLW). Molde should get back to winning ways and could close the gap on Rosenborg, who have a tricky one away to third placed Odd Grenland, a little.

Selection 2

US Major League, Sunday 2 August, 1.30 a.m: Chicago Fire (2nd Eastern Conference, DWDWL) at home to Real Salt Lake (6th in Western Conference, WLDWD). Chicago Fire are deservedly favourites for this one.

Selection 3

Brazil, Sunday 2 August, 8.00 p.m: Flamengo (7th, WWDDL) at home to Nautico (20th (of 20), LDDLD). nautico have plumetted to the bottom of the league in the last few weeks and we see no way they can take a point here!

Sky Bet offered the best odds at the time we placed our bet with a potential return of £286.31 for our £25 trixie – potential profit £186.31.

Here’s to success!

Best Bet Soccer Results – 25 and 26 July

Click hers for Best Bet SoccerNot so good this weekend with Kryliya Sovetov losing on Saturday and Molde only drawing yesterday. Good result from Colorado Rapids but in vain. Roll on the European season in a couple of weeks and a return to our high level of winning Best Bet Soccer selections.

Overall not too despondent as the Toronto Blue Jays did us well in the MLB and Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. John Morrison’s system really does appear to be something else. For an excellent review see: http://www.sportsbettingchampreviewer.com.

Best Bet Soccer Selections – 25 and 26 July 2009

bbslogo2cm

After being so close last week we intend to get back to winning ways this weekend. We’ve identified what we consider to be very high probability winners and must say we were pleasantly surprised when we checked the odds available.

Selection 1

Our first selection this week is in Russia, kicking off at 12.00 noon (UK time) on Saturday. It’s Krylya Sovetov (7th in league, last 5 (most recent first) DLLWD) who take on Saturn Ramensko (or Saturn Mosk Oblast depending where you look) (12th, WLWWD). Saturn have a good recent record but against what we consider to be inferior opposition to our selection. It was Kryla that drew with Spartac Moscow to ruin the party last week!

Selection 2

We’re back to the U.S. Major League for our next Best Bet Soccer pick where we go for Colorado Rapids (5th in Western Conference, LWLLD) to beat New York Red Bulls (bottom of Eastern Conference, LLLLD). The Rapids’ form isn’t exactly fantastic but we feel that the Red Bulls are very week and they should run out comfortable winners.

Selection 3

For our third selection we’re back to Norway where Molde (2nd, WWWWW) are away to Sandefjord (11th, WLDLL). Molde are going great guns at present and we think they’ll be far too strong for Sandefjord.

The combined odds at Sporting Bet are the best we can find this week returning £334.89 on a £25.00 trixie for potential profit of £234.89.

Wishing you the very best of luck.

Best Bet Soccer: How To Formulate Your Staking Plan

We’d previously posted on our staking policy and unfortunately this was a total loss when our blog was deleted. We’re therefore posting again. It’s not a word for word copy of the original but makes the same points in the same way.

We’d like to open by saying that we believe a well researched staking policy to be essential to long term soccer betting profits. Yes, you have to make the right selections and choose the correct bet but without a staking policy that enables you to leverage up your winnings but protect you from a losing run you’ll get nowhere the overall level of profits that you should.

We’ve mentioned previously that until March 2009 we were very random with our betting. It’s only when we first realised that we were making consistent profits that we decided to keep a record of our bets. Since March that record has appeared on our website. Rather than include the detail in this posting we’re providing a link so you have the access to the most up to date information. We update the web page usually on a weekly basis and at least monthly so the data is as current as we can keep it. Here is the link:

Best Bet Soccer History Of Bets

So that you can verify the bets if you wish we also publish a page of screenshots of our bets that you can check out:

Best Bet Soccer Screenshots

So – on to staking.

To some extent it was guesswork but we felt from our past somewhat random use of our system that our selections (usually three selections bet on in a trixie bet) were all winners at least one week in three. We were also of the view that at least one week in three produced two winners and a partial return of our stake. Statistics for 18 weeks to 3 July 2009 show five winning weeks, nine weeks with two winners and only four weeks with no return at all. On reviewing our selections there are probably two partial returns that should have been winning weeks and two total losses that should at least have been partial returns. We were pushing too hard in those weeks and stepping outside our proven selection criteria!

What this shows is that our original guesswork wasn’t too far adrift.

At the outset we decided that we would have a “betting bank” to cover three weeks staking. It doesn’t matter which way you decide on this. You can either determine the amount of your stake and then put funds into your “betting bank” to cover it three times or you can decide how much you wish to or can afford to put into the “betting bank” and then stake one third of that amount. You don’t actually have to deposit the funds but you should set them aside or be prepared to add additional funds up to the amount of the “betting bank” you decide upon. We set funds aside in a pot to be available if required.

We decided on a bank of £300 and initial stake of £100. This was more because it’s a nice amount for illustration purposes and we were setting out to “prove” our system than for any other reason.

We then introduced £100 from our “betting bank” to a bookmaker account to make our first bet. We were lucky that it was a winner but we deliberately selected cast iron picks at short prices so that that was the case. We’ll touch further upon the selections we make in our closing email but mention here that we are firmly of the view that short odds winners have it over longer priced losers every time!

For the next couple of weeks we were successful with only two of our three selections and therefore achieved only partial return against our stake money. However, what you can see from our betting history is that our running balance remains well on the positive side.  Remember, this balance is our net winnings. We originally introduced £100 from our “betting bank” so we also had that in hand and at no time up to 3 July 2009, the most recent bet prior to the initial publication of this email, had we to introduce additional funds so we still had £200 of our original £300 held in our “betting bank”.

There is an upward trend to our cumulative winnings.

The question we have asked ourselves is when to increase our stake?

We have set ourselves the criteria that we should triple our bank before we increase our stake – and then we double our stake rather than tripling it.

The table below shows that at 12 May our cumulative winnings of £753.90 plus our bank of £300.00 total £1,053.90 – exceeding the £900.00 triple of our starting bank. We could therefore increase our stake to £200.00. But we have a loser and this takes our total bank plus winnings back below £900.00. You can see from the table (click here for table: staking plan example) that we run down to a cumulative loss situation at 26 June but we still have our original £100.00 deposit and £200.00 remaining in our “betting bank” so we were OK for funds to continue to stake from.

What we should do the following week, because our combined cumulative profits of £553.90 and bank of £300.00 had fallen back below the £900.00 triple of our initial “betting bank”, is reduce our stake to £100.00 again. The following table (click here for table: staking plan example 2) shows that the losses then don’t dip anywhere near so low and we could sustain a much longer run from the residual profits and our bank.

Our strategy therefore is very much one of triple the bank, double the stake and if we should be so unfortunate as to fall below these criteria to reduce our stake again. based on our initial bank of £300 we’re therefore looking at the following staking plan(click for table:  staking plan example 3).

You can calculate you own plan based on your initial bank or staking.

We consider a staking policy to be imperative to maintaining solidly based betting profits. This works for our system and if you follow us it should for you too.

Best Bet Soccer Results – 18 and 19 July 2009

bbslogo2cmWe were almost there with Palmeiras winning on Saturday night and Chicago Fire early on Sunday. Spartak Moscow unfortunately failed to come up with the goods. Our one winning double paid £56.25 for a £43.75 loss against our £100.00 stake.

The running total since we started keeping records in March this year is profit of £542.94 on turnover of £2,000.00. That’s a tad over 27% and we’re looking for 67%! We’ve been there and it’s only the couple of weeks that we stepped outside our normal parameters that the main losses occured that have reduced our overall percentage.

We intend pushing the percentage back up over the next few weeks in readiness for the start of the 2009/10 main European season!

Sports Betting Champ Review From Best Bet Soccer

bbslogo2cmWe don’t remember where it came from but we received an email with a link to Sports Betting Champ. The email convinced us we should look further at this so we clicked the link and landed on the Sports Betting Champ sales letter. To be blunt, we were astounded at what we were reading. Claims to 97%+ winning bets just didn’t seem believable. We decided to carry out more research.

We trawled the internet for any mention of Sports Betting Champ and read all we could find out about it. There’s tons of stuff there but we were unable to find an uncomlimentary word about it. We learned that the system provides the level of winning bets claimed and that John Morrison, its developer and owner, also provides backup. As well as providing details of his systems and how to use them he  emails “members” with all selections as they arise. So as well as an exceptionally high level of winning bets there’s not even the need to  do any work as the selections are provided by John!

We were so impressed we decided to give it a try. It’s priced reasonably and wasn’t going to break the bank. We haven’t been users for long but so far we’re absolutely delighted with the bets we’ve had. With the systems explained in an easy to understand way, links to the data required and the email service there’s nothing to fault. And we’ve made a profit on all John’s selections!
